| Indian Cricket Tour : 20th February - 7th March, 2013 |
| This will be a challenging period for Australia coming straight after a big home series with Sri Lanka and a massive encounter with the No 1 ranked side South Africa, (whose title we hope to claim) and just prior to the tour that excites us all – the Ashes in England. But if you think there will be any respite in this period, then the Indians will soon put that to rest. Given the confrontations between the teams in prior series, this will be no less intense despite the fact that many of the Australian and Indian players are teammates during the IPL and subsequent big bash tournaments. Not one of the players on either team is willing to take a back step, nor be intimidated by their opponents, so we can expect the competition to be as fierce as ever. This all makes up for some fascinating cricket between two teams fighting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy – there is personal pride and unfinished business here. And of course in the terraces, where the chanting of the crowds is cricket support in its most passionate form, and must be seen and appreciated to understand Test match cricket in the sub-continent. Of course we will be in the luxury of our corporate hospitality suites, as there is no need to endure the heat and sun that the Indian climate can present to us. |
Besides the cricket there is of course, the mystical country of India. The beauty and charm of the country will delight and enchant you, as this is a country of extremes. The food, the aroma, the tastes and smells, the sights and contrasts make this a destination that will truly give you unforgettable memories. Famous of all the world’s structures is the Taj Mahal, which needs no introduction to anyone, and is usually on most people’s must-see list. The Red Fort in Agra, the pink city of Jaipur, famous for their elephant rides, are all world renown sites in their own rights. This will be our fifth cricket tour to India, and working with our colleagues at Tourism India, our expertise will make a difference to your travel experiences. I look forward to seeing you on this wonderful tour. |
