Sri Lankan Cricket Tour : 27th August - 16th September, 2011
The previous tour we took to Sri Lanka was in 2004 and although the result was a 3-0 whitewash for Australia, the series could easily have gone the other way, as Sri Lanka had first innings leads in all three matches. The individual battles were just as compelling with Warnie just coming out on top of Murali and not only securing the series for Australia, but also achieving the individual accolade of player of the series as well as claiming his 500th Test match wicket. At that time Australia were clearly ranked No 1 in the world, but things are a bit different this time round and the battles will be even closer again as little separates both teams in world rankings, so I am expecting a cracker of a series. We were fortunate enough to see the Sri Lankans in the Cricket World Cup earlier this year, so we are well aware of the capabilities of this very talented cricket team.

Having been here on previous occasions we are also very familiar with Sri Lanka as a destination and their love of the game of cricket. Just watching all the children playing cricket on the Galle Face Green in Colombo gives an insight into their passion for the game. It also gives us an opportunity to visit the stadium at Galle, so cruelly devastated by the tsunami in 2004, just after our tour, and also to see the new stadium at Pallekele in the spectacular mountain kingdom of Kandy. We have also secured the best possible hotels in each location and can assure you that you will be absolutely thrilled with our accommodation. And as an added bonus, we have the additional post tour into the stunning archipelago of the Maldives and the beautiful island resort of Rannalhi. We look forward to you joining us on what will be a great tour. Stacky
