Le Tour de France : 30th June - 22nd July, 2012 |
Final Weekend in Paris and Chartres Time Trial : 20th - 23rd July, 2012 |
Join us for the final weekend in Paris for the finale of the 2012 Tour de France. This trip includes coach travel from the UK on Friday 20th July, with a trip to see the Final Time Trial of the Tour de France on the Saturday, and you will be in the centre of Paris on the Sunday for the final stage of the Tour de France and the crowning ceremony of the winners' jerseys this year. In 2011, we saw Cadel Evans crowned as the ultimate victor of the Tour de France and awarded the yellow jersey, with Mark Cavendish, the fastest cyclist in the World, finally winning the much sought after green jersey, only a few months before he won the Rainbow jersey of the cycling World Champion. Accommodation will be in the heart of Paris at the 4* Mercure Paris Suffren Tour Eiffel, which is only a few steps away from the Eiffel Tower. The planned itinerary for the first week of the 2012 Tour de France is below - please note, this is the intended itinerary at this stage, but things do change between now and the actual time of the Tour. |

| Friday 20th July We will collect clients in the UK from Leeds, Manchester / Sheffield, Birmingham, London and service stations on the motorway networks used. We shall take the 16.30hrs sailing from Dover to Calais, and travel direct to Paris, where we shall spend 3 nights at the 4* Hotel Mercure Paris Suffren Tour Eiffel. | Saturday 21st July The penultimate stage of the 2012 Tour de France is a 52km Individual Time Trial between Bonneval and Chartres. Even more so, if there are only a few second between the leadings riders. Afterwards, we will return to Paris. Alternatively, should you wish to expore Paris, you can have the day free to take in the sights of Paris and the countless shops! The rest of the evening will be at leisure to sample the Parisian restaurants. |
| Sunday 22nd July Breakfast at your leisure. At 11.00hrs we shall walk the short distance from the hotel to the Champs Elysees. Here we have some options for Official Tour de France Hospitality, where you can take your seat in your chosen grandstand. You will see the passage of the Tour de France Publicity Caravan, followed by the arrival of the Tour de France riders who will complete 8 laps of a circuit based on the Champs Elysees, and after the ceremony awards you will see the riders lap of honor on the Champs Elysees. |
