The first Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka was in 1987, where Nigel Mansell lost the championship to Nelson Piquet. It is the only figure eight course on the Formula1 calendar. This track has seen notable battles between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen and there are plenty more to come.
