| The FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 will be the 7th instance of the FIFA Women's World Cup and is taking place in Canada. The Australian women's national association football team the Matildas made it through to the Quarter Finals but unfortunately were defeated by third place getters Sweden. Having qualified for the tournament for the 5th consecutive time, the Matildas will be hoping to do it again for 2015 and hopefully improve on their consecutive FIFA Women's World Cup Quarter Finals performances and make it all the way through to the final.
