Tour Itinerary

Monday 13 July, 2020 - Arrival day
Our tour starts today so you can either make your way to our hotel in Chambery, the hotel Kyriad or you can make use of our airport arrival transfers from Geneva airport.

We can provide airport transfers today from Geneva Airport at 13.00 and 18.00 today. Please arrive with sufficient time to clear customs and collect your baggage to meet our tansfer times.
Chambery is also served by a direct TGV connection with Paris Gare de Lyon which takes about 3 hours only.A transfer from the train station in Chambery is also possible.

This evening we will be on hand to assist you with putting your bikes together if you are travelling with your bike. We will also have your rental bike ready if you have chosen this option.
This evening we will take the opportunity to introduce everybody in our group and talk through the itinerary of the weekend.

Tuesday 14 July, 2020 - Stage 16 - La Tour du Pin - Villard de Lans
Today the Tour de France comes closer to us as the finish of today's stage is in Villard de Lans and the stage takes in 4 categorised climbs before finishing at the ski resort of Villard de Lans.

We offer a fully supported ride today to the Col de Porte to watch the riders come past as they scale the summit. From Chambery we will ride the 50km to the summit of the Col de Porte. We will park our coach in Saint-Laurent-du-Pont where spectators can stay to watch the riders come past as they start the climb. After the finish, we will provide transport back to Chambery from Saint-Laurent-du-Pont.

Wednesday 15 July, 2020 - Stage 17 - Grenoble - Meribel
The next Alpine stage will start from Grenoble and finish in Meribel, a popular French ski resort in the Tarentaise valley in Savoie.

Cyclists can join us on our guided ride to the Relais Etape today which is a lunch time VIP experience. In line with the exact location of the Relais Etape we will provide a guided ride there for the cyclists and the spectators will go there on our tour vehicle. En route from Chambery, we will stop in Albertville where the cyclists will start their ride today. We will follow the valley road past La Lechere and the bottom of the Col de Madeleine to Moutiers from where we will ride the final section of the stage up to the Relais Etape VIP area. Once there, we can relax and watch the stage on TV before seeing the riders come past on their way to the summit of today's stage on the new Col de Loze.


Spectators will come on our accredited vehicle all the way to the Relais Etape.
For both riders and spectators we offer the 'Relais Etape' experience. Enjoy a sit down lunch, a comfortable setting with a large screen to watch today's deciding stage. The 'Relais Etape' is an area on the course of a Tour de France stage which takes the form of a small village in a prime position along the route. We will accommodate a ride to this area for those who are cycling and spectators will be taken directly to the 'Relais Etape' to enjoy the day.

Thursday 16 July, 2020 - Stage 18 - Meribel - La Roche sur Foron
Today we will all go to the finish at La Roche sur Foron. Cyclists will have the Cross the Finish experience followed by Finish Hospitality at the Izoard area and spectators will go directly to the Izoard so the group will be together at the finish.

We have a treat in store for you today. The cyclists can join us for our 'cross the finish line' VIP experience. We will ride on the very roads that the peloton will ride on just hours later. After you have crossed the official finish line we will all have our photos taken on the winners podium.
Your day includes:

  • The support of the Sports Tours International team and support vehicle

  • Cycle the final portion of the stage along the same route as the pros just hours later

  • Crossing the finish line on your bike

  • A photo on the top step of the official podium

  • Izoard hospitality

  • Transport back after the finish


Izoard finish line hospitality

The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Tourmalet, Izoard and Galibier. Access to these areas is reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors and team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. You will be served with drinks and snacks and there is a big screen to watch the LIVE action as it unfolds. After watching the finish, you will celebrate the victory with Champagne.

Friday 17 July, 2020 - Departure day
After breakfast, we will provide one airport transfer back to Geneva airport today at 11.00. The airport transfer takes about one hour, so please book flights to depart Geneva after 14.00.
A transfer to the train station in Chambery is also possible.

Payment Terms:
50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is due 6 March 2020. All payments for Tour de France Packages are fully non-refundable and non-transferable.
