MONT VENTOUX  : 29 June - 2 July, 2020

Monday 29 June, 2020 - Arrival day

Please arrange your own flight to Nice Cote d'Azur airport or to Marseille Airport. We will collect you from the airport at 15:00 for transport to our hotel, the Hotel des Pins in Bedoin. Please ensure your arrival time allows you time to clear customs and obtain your baggage to be clear to board the transport before 15.00. If you are booked on our Grand Depart trip then we will collect you from your hotel and we will transfer you to Bedoin this afternoon, after the start of today's stage which takes place in Nice.

We will spend 3 nights in Bedoin on half board basis so with breakfasts and evening meals included. This evening we will take the opportunity to go through the programme of the 2020 Tour de France tour to come. This is also a good opportunity to get to know your fellow group members.

Bike rental - If you have booked a bike with us then it will be available for you tonight.

Tuesday 30 June, 2020 - Ride Mont Ventoux
We are in Bedoin, at the foot of Mont Ventoux so today we will ride this mountain directly from the hotel. During the ride, we will support you with our minibus. During the day, we will provide you with snacks and drinks at regular intervals.

 

Later afternoon, enjoy the hotel and its surroundings and this evening we will have the evening meal at the hotel.

Wednesday 1 July, 2020 - Gap > Privas - Stage 5 - 183 km - Flat
The riders will traverse the Provence today past the olive trees. The stage goes past Nyons which is close to Bedoin. The finish is at the Nougat capital of Montélimar. We expect a bunch sprint in Privas near Montelimar.
We have a fantastic day in store for you today. After a short transfer to Nyons, the cyclists will ride the race route and spectators will go directly to Privas. Cyclists will do our Cross the Finis Experience and both cyclists and spectators have access to the Izoard Finish area.

Cross the Finish Experience
We have a treat in store for you today. The cyclists can join us for our 'cross the finish line' VIP experience. We will ride on the very roads that the peloton will ride on just hours later. After you have crossed the official finish line on we will all have our photos taken on the winners podium. After this we will have time to get changed at the hotel and we will wait for the riders to arrive.
We will make our way to Nyons from Bedoin. From Nyons, we will ride the route to Privas on the race route. This is a 100km, mainly flat ride.

Izoard finish line hospitality
The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Tourmalet, Izoard and Galibier. Access to these areas is reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors and team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. You will be served with drinks and snacks and there is a big screen to watch the LIVE action as it unfolds. After watching the finish, you will celebrate the victory with Champagne.

Your day includes:

• The support of the Sports Tours International team and support vehicle

• Cycle the final portion of the stage along the same route as the pros just hours later

• Crossing the finish line on your bike

• A photo on the top step of the official podium

• Access to the Izoard finishing line hospitality

The evening meal is available at the hotel on return.

Thursday 2 July, 2020 - Le Teil > Mont Aigoual - Stage 6 - 191 km - Hilly
Please ensure that you are packed and ready to go this morning with your bike ready for transportation.

Today's start is in the village of Le Teil, next to Montelimar. We will provide transport there from the hotel. Once the riders of the Tour de France are on their way, we will provide an airport transfer back to either Marseille or Nice airport.

Village Depart
The 2020 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider's paddock. If you are into collecting autographs, this is the best place for it.

We expect the Village Depart to finish at 13.00 - 13.30. The airport transfer from Montelimar to Nice will take 3 hours and to Marseille will take 2 hours. if you are flying home, please ensure that your flight times are in line with the timings today.
